Creating a Room Your Child Will Be Proud Of

By Brian, June 9, 2015

Decorating a home is hard work.  If you want a home that looks like it could grace the cover of the latest magazine, but you also want to make your children happy there are some things to consider.  One of the things that you should think about is how you can incorporate your child to make sure that they have wall displays in their room that they can be proud of.

There is no one set way to create a space that is going to make your child feel proud.  Each child is different so each child might have their own idea of what is needed for their room.  There is nothing as special for a parent as seeing a look for complete satisfaction and pride on their child’s face for something that they have created.

Learn How to Display Artwork

One thing is for certain, if you want your child to be proud of their wall displays you have got to figure out ways that you can display their artwork.  There are so many different things that you can do that this really is not going to be as hard as you might initially think.  In fact it is really quite easy.

Here are a few ideas that will work in any home.

  1. Paint old frames bold contrasting colors that will work in your child’s room.  Take the back of the frame and glass out and adhere some type of clip.  Then hang these on the wall so that children can hang up their own artwork to display.
  2. Another great idea is to focus on art projects that revolve around canvases that you can hang up in your child’s room when finished.
  3. Frame some of your child’s most important artwork.
  4. Use curtain wires and clips to display artwork on.

Allow Your Child to Choose A Central Piece

One great way to help make your child feel more in control of their room is have them choose the central piece of wall décor.  Choosing a great painting, print, or mirror is a great way for your child to be able to express who they are while offering something that is going to look classy in their rooms.  Another great idea is to allow children to choose lamps, lamp shades, and curtains that are going to help express who they are.

Make the Room Multi-Purpose

Nearly every child needs a room that is multi-purposed.  They need a space to sleep and relax, a place to study and learn, and a place to play or enjoy their favorite activity.  Making sure that you create a high quality multi-purpose room that meets their needs is going to allow you to have a space that they are proud to have their own.  Remember to consider your child’s interests as you are designing their space so that each child has a unique room that really focuses on who they are.

Find the Right Way to Display Photos

No one way is going to be right to display photos in your child’s room. There are a wide range of different products on today’s market that can allow for you to find the perfect photo displays.  There are a number of fun DIY photo décor projects that you can create with your child.  Canvases, metal prints, wood prints, photo lines, and framed pictures can all be used as well depending on the look that you are going for and what your child loves most.  Consider having your child go to a special themed portrait session if they like a favorite character.  This way you are creating something different than just pictures of cartoon characters hanging on walls.

Knowing what your child wants is the first step in having a room that they can be proud of.  Taking the time to personalize the room and make it unique to your child is the next step.  When you choose great ways to make your child’s room a special place to go then you are going to have a child who loves their room and is proud of it.
